Therapist Thoughts: “Everything about therapy is going to make you feel uncomfortable in the beginning.”

Everything about therapy is going to make you feel uncomfortable in the beginning.

This is a normal part of the process because you’re sharing deeply personal experiences with a stranger. That can feel weird AF and vulnerable. Trauma is overwhelming.

Talking about (or feeling through) can bring up strong emotions. Therapy may be the place you acknowledge this for the FIRST time

Although that can be scary, there’s so much power in that. Because when you allow yourself to feel and be heard, you start the processing of healing. You get to take your power back and reparent little you!

And it’s all because you got comfortable with being uncomfortable.
